Occupy Missoula is at A turning point. Finding common ground and solutions to fundamental problems such as the house-less
are going to take time and will be looked at as a stall tactic by the City. The Missoula Board of Commissioners are pressing
the removal/relocation issue. The Occupy Missoula encampment retains a hopelessly positive outlook despite the removal by county workers of a disabled homeless veteran’s tent at 5:30AM on the 21st, under the presumption that it was “abandoned property,” as well at the calculated removal of the portable restrooms the same afternoon, in order to create a public health issue.
Such tactics are not at all an astonishment to myself. The Agenda is to remove the “occupier’s presence” on the court house lawn. The alleged allegation of “The Commissioners also request that portable restroom providers not “get involved,” and our attempts to secure another portable restroom have been unsuccessful for that reason.”
My personal opinion on the subject: I think that occupy Missoula is financially rudderless & bogged down in a quagmire of disorganization and personal/political ism’s and general normality bias. Is the eminent epic failure nearing ever closer? probably not unless you donate now more then ever! What a grate sales pitch - right? As for the General Assembly & you can quote me on this “you idealistic ship of fools will never see one dime of donations directly linked to my activist network ever” I only support real physical people that occupy A public space. I will continue to entertain the idea and actually show up for assemblies. Just because I support other actions that may function & open new doors. We all have common goals and one is the preservation of our government, Strengthening of checks and balances that prevent the seeds of despotism from taking root resulting in corruption of our most basic public systems. Indeed!
The agenda of the Missoula Board of County Commissioners is to remove the occupiers and basically have there cake and eat it to! A disabled homeless veteran commented this compelling statement on the court house lawn - "The MAN will promise you anything and behind your back will betray your trust and manipulate the media to dismiss any wrong doing. My protest started twenty plus years ago."- end quote.
